Yzerfontein is a small harbour town on the picturesque west coast of South Africa. Situated about 80km from Cape Town, the tranquil coastal village is popular for its beautiful beaches, seasonal wild flowers, renowned fishing opportunities, and its picturesq scenery. Yzerfontein is a fisherman’s dream; famous for its snoek and crayfish. About 60% of all the line fish caught on the west coast happens in Yzerfontein, providing an income to locals. In addition to fishing, other water sports to be enjoyed include swimming, water skiing, boating, and surfing. Nature lovers will be in their element with activities like mountain biking, whale and dolphin spotting in season, bird watching, scenic drives, and day tours to the surrounding areas.
