Thanda Private Game Reserve was honoured at the Grand Final World Travel Awards, held on 11 January 2012 in Doha, Qatar, with an esteemed award for ‘World’s Leading Luxury Lodge’ for a third successive year.

Thanda, a Zululand private game reserve near Hluhluwe, has won 12 World Travel Awards in various categories since 2006. The gala event was the grand finale of a year of global regional award events in search of the world’s finest hospitality products.
To be recognised as the ‘World’s Leading Luxury Lodge’ three years in a row proves that Thanda’s efforts to excel in luxury and exclusivity is being accomplished. It is amazing that a lodge from Zululand featured among the best in the world.
The winners were selected from more than 5 000 companies in 100 categories across 162 countries and were voted for by more than 210 000 travel agents and guests worldwide.
