Payment and Cancellation terms differ amongst establishments & service providers and the terms for individual establishments are provided per the enquiry/booking/confirmation forms.
The following are guidelines, but if you are unsure, please contact us:
Guesthouses and B&B's
During peak holiday periods (Easter, long weekends, mid-December to
mid-January and the July school holiday period in Kwazulu Natal) full
payment 30 days prior to arrival is required.
During the remainder of the year, a deposit of 50% is required 30 days
prior to arrival although many Guesthouses and B&B's will accept
your credit card details as surety for the booking.
The following cancellation fee applies on the full value of the booking:
- If cancelled within 30 days prior to arrival - 25%
- If cancelled 7 to 2 days prior to arrival - 50%
- If cancelled less than 2 days prior to arrival or no show - 100%
Hotels
Almost all Hotels accept your credit card as surety for the booking, but
in some instances require a deposit to the value of the first night's
booking.
The following cancellation guidelines apply:
- For two or less rooms - if cancelled within 72 hours prior to arrival
or no show, will be subject to a full cancellation fee of the value of
the accommodation booked.
- For three to 10 rooms - if cancelled within seven days prior to
arrival or no show, will be subject to a full cancellation fee of the
value of the accommodation booked.
Game Lodges and Game Reserves
Game Lodges and Game Reserves require a deposit of 50% in order to
confirm the booking and the balance to be paid 6 weeks (42 days) before
arrival. Should a booking be made within 6 weeks of the arrival date,
full payment is required to secure the reservation.
Should a confirmed reservation be cancelled, the following
cancellation fees will apply to the value of the accommodation booked:
- 5% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 60 days prior to arrival
- 25% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 42 days prior to arrival
- 50% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 21 days prior to arrival
- 100% cancellation fee if cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival or no show.
Self-catering Establishments
During peak holiday periods (Easter, long weekends, mid-December to
mid-January and the July school holiday period in KwaZulu Natal) full
payment is required to secure the reservation.
During the remainder of the year, a deposit of 50% is required to secure
the booking and the balance is payable 30 days prior to arrival.
The deposit or full payment is forfeited when cancelled. Normally these establishments will refund you 90% of the funds paid if the unit is again let to someone else.
