Oranjerivier Wine Cellars is a co-operative consisting of an Administrative Head Office at Upington, and five cellars at Groblershoop, Grootdrink, Upington, Keimoes and Kakamas. These five cellars combined, constitute the largest wine co-operative in Soth Africa and in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as being the second largest in the world.
Established on the 23rd of December, 1965, it comprises a membership of approximately 750 farmers. The area stretches across a distance of about 300 km, with soil composition varying drastically.
The range of wines is regarded as among the best as the medals awarded to the products at Wine Shows tell their own story.
Visitors are invited to pay the cellar a visit, see and taste the wines and on arrangement take a tour of the cellar.
