Rugged Glen is a rugged part of the Drakensberg Mountain Range, with spectacular beauty, nature trails and trout-fishing.
The 762 ha Rugged Glen is adjacent to Royal Natal National Park and 4 km from its gate. There are nature trails and trout-fishing, and horse rides set out from the Rugged Glen stables.
The game and birdlife are similar to those found in the Royal Natal National Park, and the sanctuaries share access roads from Harrismith and Bergville.
Accommodation within the Royal Natal National Park can be found at Thendele Rest Camp and Thendele Lodge.
The Northern Drakensberg is supported mostly by the town of Bergville with a variety of accommodation options as well as accommodation in the larger Northern Drakensberg area.
