For a full five decades Boland Wine Cellar has dedicated itself to one specific task - that of producing the best wines of the Boland.
Driven by this aim, the cellar has grown to be one of South Africa's largest suppliers of outstanding wines for the local market, and its products are becoming increasingly popular overseas.
Boland Wine Cellar has been on the receiving end of numerous awards year after year. For example, its Cape Riesling was named best Cape Riesling for two years running and its internationally award-winning Chenin Blanc received a Veritas double gold and was listed among the country's Top Ten Chenin Blancs.
The cellar master received the outstanding international award of Winemaker of the Year at Vin Expo during 2001 and its Shiraz (2000) was awarded the best in its class internationally during 2003.
To be able to offer its guests something really special - besides its exceptional wines - Boland Wine Cellar has created a charming tasting venue. The fact that it's situated underground contributes to its unique atmosphere.
During the festive season visitors can enjoy light meals here, and in the winter months a special programme is offered, with convivial get-togethers centering particularly around Boland Wine Cellar's `winter wines'.
