Boplaas is situated in Calitzdorp, a small Southern Cape town at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains. Summers are warm, but the south wind blowing in from the sea, through the mountain creates a cooler climate conducive to excellent ripening, which ensures quality wines.
Boplaas Port
Boplaas is renowned for its world class Ports, and has on various occasions - been crowned as South African Champion in this class of wine. Boplaas Port has been chosen as the best Port in South Africa, and has been selected for firstclass flights of South African Airways.
The 1989 Port was regarded, by an Italian Magazine, as South Africas best Port, and as one of the top 150 Wines of the World.

Boplaas Brandy
After new distillation licences were granted, Boplaas became the first private cellar to release a potstill brandy. After a double distillation, the brandy is aged for 4 to 5 years in French Limousin vats.
Table Wines
Boplaas has long been regarded as among the leaders in wine production, and has been recognised for seven consecutive years as the champion producer at the Southern Cape Bottled Wine Show.
